A new project to promote protection of children at school was started about six months in Caracas, Venezuela Cecodap solidarity organization, in cooperation with the International Bureau Catholique de l'Enfance (BICE) .
The objective is to reduce incidents and violent situations in schools, families and communities, through training activities that provide for a joint collaboration between children, girls and adolescents (NNA), teachers, directors and other figures of the school community.
During the first six months of implementation of the project was knowledge and tools can start to identify strategies for violence prevention. First, children and adolescents have been trained to be good promoters of their treatment at school. The Cecodap has successfully contacted 27 educational centers and two institutions for the protection which will carry out awareness raising activities and promotion of good treatment in their institutions.
The organization has also playful and innovative educational projects proposed for the formation of NNA on issues related to violence prevention and self-defense mechanisms. This proposal was published in the driving training of the promoters of the project.
At least 500 people have received direct information on the importance of preventing violence by organizing and participating in seminars, videos, forums and conferences. The national media have helped to highlight the theme of the good treatment of children and promoting a culture of peace in school, family and community.
Finally, forms were made training for more than 55 teachers from centers of public, private, secular and Catholic, on the topic.
